Name: Chad
Scripture: Acts 7: 20-44 Psalm 35
(Somewhere I combined two days because I was too lazy to look at the bookmark...So that's why I am off track)
Acts 7 is a continuation of what I was looking at last night, but I don't want to delve into it deeper.
I read Josh's post about the psalm that I was supposed to read tonight but didn't so I read this one which would seem to stand in opposition to what Josh wrote, Psalm 35 is David asking God to throw down.
OAP: Now that I have a ridiculous amount of free time at night, (because I get my homework done in the day because I have no friends) I watched a movie yesterday, it was Troy. Troy is about throwing down and how Achilles was the greatest person to throw down ever. Well that can't be true I though, people have been throwing down for ages, I wonder who could have out thrown down Achilles. If you type greatest throwdowners ever into Google you will probably get some weird results, after a little web surfing I find a list of the greatest throwdowners ever, Achilles among them (bear with me there is a point coming up), so was Genghis and Hector and then one that I wasn't expecting, David. David is considered one of the greatest warriors to ever live (according to some random website that I have an odd amount of confidence in). David also had a giant army, yet here he is calling on God to do something that he could do with his own power. Giving his strength to God, David was very capable of winning any throwdown yet he comes to God, says here it is, I want you to do this, I want your power to destroy my enemies, Yes I know that I could if I wanted to, but I want your will, If you don't then it is OK but I wont force it. This is big for me.
God, you have given me the ability to love on people, to enter group of people comfortably and have a good time, to be a highly trained mingler as Ethan says. I don't want to God. I don't want to use my abilities, I don't want to use my power, I guide that and I can use it for what I decide is good, even with the best intentions. I want it to be your good, so here it is.
