Name: Chad
Scripture: Luke 24ish
He acted as though He were going farther.
OAP: This doesn't sit right with me. Acted as though. I looked it up, the greek word is prospoieĊ, it means to pretend. I don't like that Jesus is pretending. In my mind it is like him having a little joke, or maybe acting in such away to have them do something. It doesn't seem approprtiate considerig the circumsances and almost beneath God to pretend. Like a white lie.
I don't get it. Clarify this for me God. I see you as constant, not decitful. Help me understand

I think you need to consider a couple of things.
1. What was Jesus' intention? Was it to deceive and leave the people believing a lie or to reveal himself at the right time? Didn't he use that time to teach them and provide revelation of the scriptures?
2. What was the end result? Glorification of God.
3. What about when God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac? What was the purpose there? That was blatant deceit.
What is the purpose when God/Jesus deceives? Is God glorified? Are people brought to deeper understanding? I don't know if its the absolute answer but it seems to make sense.
