Name: Scott
Scripture: Luke 22: 39-40
"39 Then, accompanied by the disciples, Jesus left the uplstairs room and went as usual to the Mount of Olives. 40 There He told them, 'Pray that you will not give in to temptation.'"

OAP: I never noticed before that Jesus and the disciples went to the Mount of Olives "as usual". This was a regular practice for them, I suppose, to go to a quiet place out of the way of the city and people, and pray. They didn't just pray when they needed something, or wanted to hear something specific from God. They regularly went to this place, which I'm sure was way out of their way.

I've been learning more and more about prayer (kind of) and I've been realizing how I need to kick myself in the pants, stop being lazy, and just pray. God doesn't care how I feel when I pray, it doesn't matter. The fact that I pray matters. i can take my anger out on God. I can cry with Him (if I wanted to). That's what He's there for?

Jesus, come take me away. I long to see your face. Guide me as I try and work through this mess that is me. Teach me how to pray. Thank you for such a beautiful day today! You're the best.
